A Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting the day\-to\-day operations of a warehouse by receiving, storing, organizing, and dispatching goods efficiently and accurately. They help maintain inventory, prepare customer or production orders, and ensure the warehouse remains clean, safe, and well\-organized.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments.
* Check deliveries against purchase orders and report any discrepancies or damaged items.
* Store products in designated warehouse locations following company procedures.
* Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment accurately and on time.
* Load and unload delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment when required.
* Label, sort, and organize inventory to ensure easy access and accurate stock control.
* Perform regular stock counts and assist with inventory audits.
* Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or warehouse management systems.
* Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts (if certified).
* Assist with returns processing and inventory replenishment.
* Work closely with warehouse supervisors, logistics teams, and other departments to meet operational goals.
**Requirements:**
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Previous warehouse or logistics experience is preferred but not always required.
* Ability to lift and move heavy items safely (typically up to 25–50 kg, depending on company policy).
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems are an advantage.
* Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong time management and reliability.
* Forklift certification is an advantage for roles requiring equipment operation.
