Work in an outdoor marine environment with heavy equipment **Slipway Helper – Job Description** **Job Summary** We are looking for a hardworking and reliable **Slipway Helper** to join our marine operations team. The candidate will assist in vessel launching, docking, hauling, and general slipway activities. This role requires physical fitness, attention to safety, and the ability to work in an outdoor marine environment. **Key Responsibilities** * Assist in vessel hauling and launching operations. * Support positioning of cradles, keel blocks, and side supports. * Help secure and release ropes, chains, cables, and winches during vessel movement. * Ensure slipway rails and tracks are clean and free from obstruction. * Assist with operators and supervisors during vessel operations. * Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the slipway and yard area. * Handle tools and equipment safely. * Follow all Health \& Safety (HSE) procedures at all times. * Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). * Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately. **Requirements** * Previous experience in marine yard, shipyard, construction, or heavy industry is an advantage. * Physically fit and able to perform manual labor. * Ability to work outdoors under various weather conditions. * Willingness to work overtime during major vessel operations. * Strong teamwork and discipline. **Skills Required** * Basic knowledge of safety procedures. * Ability to follow instructions carefully. * Good communication skills. * Awareness of working near heavy machinery and water. * Responsible and punctual attitude. **Working Conditions** * Outdoor marine environment. * Exposure to heavy equipment and machinery. * Physically demanding tasks.
