The bartender will possess fundamental skills but will constantly seek out new market trends and understand how guest needs evolve. This role is not merely someone passionate about the world of beverages, but rather the host of the bar. The bartender steps beyond the bar itself, taking personal responsibility for the guest's direct experience. They will use their knowledge and effort to achieve perfection in both the appearance and functionality of the bar. They will build relationships within the hotel as well as within the local community. They must demonstrate a passion for every guest’s experience, paying attention to details—such as the money that passes through their hands, the information provided to guests, and pride in the quality of their beverages. In any position held, there are several fundamental aspects necessary for success: creating a safe work environment, following company policies and procedures, respecting confidentiality, protecting company assets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring professional appearance, personal grooming, and communication at all times. Guest Service Specialists are constantly on the move; they stand, sit, walk extensively, and engage in various tasks (moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance; reaching overhead, kneeling, turning, stretching, and bending). It is essential that Guest Service Specialists perform their best work (and other reasonable tasks assigned) to ensure guest satisfaction and the success of our business.
