Ensure compliance with HSE rules and participate in continuous improvement **Production Operator — Job Description** **Overview** A Production Operator operates and monitors equipment to safely run production processes, maintain plant performance, and ensure products meet quality requirements. They perform routine checks, follow operating procedures, troubleshoot basic issues, and document all activities. **Key Responsibilities** * Start up, operate, and shut down production equipment according to procedures. * Monitor process parameters (pressure, temperature, flow, level, alarms) using control systems/SCADA or local instruments. * Perform routine rounds/checks and inspections of pumps, valves, compressors, boilers/heaters, tanks, and associated systems. * Execute standard work tasks: sampling, batch/shift handover activities, cleaning/lubrication checks (as assigned). * Record readings, process events, downtime, and maintenance needs in logs and production records. * Identify abnormal conditions and respond according to operating procedures and emergency plans. * Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues to supervisors/engineers as needed. * Support switching operations, changeovers, and planned maintenance activities (including isolation/lockout/tagout). * Maintain product quality by following sampling/testing schedules and responding to out\-of\-spec conditions. * Ensure compliance with HSE rules, permits, and site procedures; wear required PPE. * Participate in planned inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. * Assist with minor repairs or operational adjustments within the operator scope. **Required Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Experience as an operator (or in plant/maintenance roles) in the relevant industry (oil \& gas, chemical, utilities, manufacturing, etc.). * Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, and basic P\&IDs/flow diagrams (if applicable). * Basic mechanical/electrical/instrumentation understanding (rotating equipment, valves, alarms, basic instrumentation). * Familiarity with safety practices (LOTO, confined space/hot work as required, hazard recognition). * Willingness to work shifts/standby and in industrial environments. **Preferred Qualifications** * Technical diploma/certificate (process operations, mechanical, instrumentation, or related). * Experience with control rooms/SCADA or specific plant systems. * Training/certifications relevant to the site (e.g., permit systems, H2S awareness, confined space, first aid). * Demonstrated troubleshooting and fault finding within standard operating procedures. * Experience with operating in batch or continuous systems (depending on the facility).
