Collaborate across project lifecycles for timely delivery **Business Analyst — IT — Job Description** **Overview** * Bridge business stakeholders and technology teams to elicit, analyze, document, and validate requirements for IT systems and projects, ensuring solutions meet business needs and deliver measurable value. **Key Responsibilities** * Elicit requirements using interviews, workshops, surveys, and observation; translate business needs into clear functional and non‑functional requirements. * Create and maintain artifacts: user stories, use cases, process flows, wireframes, data models, business rules, and acceptance criteria. * Facilitate stakeholder workshops, requirements grooming, and prioritization sessions; manage and resolve conflicting requirements. * Collaborate with product owners, developers, QA, UX, and operations through the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and timely delivery. * Perform gap analysis, impact assessment, and feasibility studies for proposed changes. * Define and support user acceptance testing (UAT); develop test plans, coordinate test execution, and validate acceptance criteria. * Analyze business processes and recommend improvements (process mapping, BPMN), automation, and KPI definitions. * Support solution design by translating requirements into technical specifications and data/integration requirements; coordinate with architects and engineers. * Maintain traceability of requirements from capture through implementation and testing; manage change requests. * Produce clear documentation and training materials; support go‑live, cutover, and post‑implementation reviews. * Assist in prioritization of backlog items based on business value, risk, and effort; contribute to roadmaps and release planning. * Monitor project progress, report status, risks, and issues; escalate as needed. * Promote best practices in requirements engineering, agile analysis, and stakeholder communication. **Required Skills \& Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. * 3–6 years experience as a Business Analyst in IT or software development environments (adjust per level). * Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. * Experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies; comfortable working in cross‑functional teams. * Proficiency writing user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and process maps. * Familiarity with modeling and documentation tools (Jira, Confluence, Figma, Lucidchart, Visio). * Basic technical literacy: APIs, data formats (JSON, XML), databases, integration patterns, and system architecture concepts. * Experience supporting UAT and creating test cases; ability to validate technical solutions against requirements. * Strong analytical thinking, problem\-solving, and attention to detail. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to technical and non‑technical audiences. **Preferred** * Certification: CBAP, PMI‑PBA, or ICAgile Business Analysis. * Experience with SQL for data validation and reporting. * Domain experience: finance, healthcare, retail, telecom, or ERP implementations. * Familiarity with product management practices and metrics (OKRs, KPIs). * Experience with automation, RPA, or low\-code platforms.
