Estimation Engineer (ASPHALT)

Summary: This role involves managing road construction projects, preparing tenders and estimates, and coordinating with various stakeholders. Highlights: 1. Manage and lead road construction project tendering and estimation. 2. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients on project estimates. 3. Oversee and monitor road construction processes and team members. **Job Purpose / Basic Function:** The main purpose of this position is to manage and be responsible to visit sites to gather information on materials needed, labors required, and other factors. Main responsibilities will be preparing and submission of tenders and proposals for road construction projects and preparing estimates in collaboration with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on estimates. In addition, being responsible to manage and direct other road construction team members. **Duties and responsibilities:** · Preparation and submission of tenders and proposals for road construction projects. · Project pricing and budgeting · Prepare detailed accurate material, labor, equipment, subcontracts, construction facilities, etc. estimates for roads construction. · Attend on\-site pre\-bid/proposal conferences and site visits. · Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value. · Present cost estimates to meet customer proposals, providing consideration for general and special conditions. · Finalize tender bids for submittal. · Determine accurate cost estimations for complex Pay\-items · Coordinate with geotechnical engineers regarding the type of material during costing and unit rate analysis. · Provide Cost Estimates on potential change orders, and changes in scope; · Support Contract Management Unit in negotiating change orders with contractors. · Create and maintain an accurate Cost Estimating database of unit prices for road and bridge works. · Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements. Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses · Travel to jobsites to gather information on materials needed, labor required, and other factors · Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates · Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on estimates · Use computer software to calculate estimates · Evaluate a product’s cost\-effectiveness or profitability and Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable · Road construction and contracts management. · Estimation the all BOQ which is related the project. Regular supervision and monitoring Road construction like Road alignment, assessment, Excavation, cutting, Embankment, subgrade, sub base, Base course etc **Qualifications:** · BSc Degree in Civil Engineering from a Recognized University · Candidates with 05 years of experience in a similar engineering capacity will be preferred. · UPDA (Grade Trainee), MMUP – Registration · Project Management Skills Work Location: In person
