Coordinate with stakeholders and manage project delivery **Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Solar Projects) – UPDA Grade A Required** **Location:** Maldives **Employment Type:** Full\-Time **Industry:** Renewable Energy / Solar **Job Summary** We are looking for a highly skilled **Electrical Engineer (UPDA Grade A Certified)** to join our solar project team in the Maldives. The candidate will be responsible for the **design, execution, and commissioning of solar PV systems**, ensuring compliance with international standards and project requirements. UPDA certification is highly valued as it validates engineering competency and is often required for major projects and approvals . **Key Responsibilities** * Design and review **solar PV systems** (on\-grid, off\-grid, hybrid) * Prepare **SLDs, layouts, load calculations, and cable sizing** * Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of solar systems * Ensure compliance with **electrical standards and safety regulations** * Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders * Prepare **technical documents, BOQs, and engineering reports** * Support grid integration, including inverters, transformers, and protection systems * Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues * Ensure timely project delivery and quality control **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering * **UPDA Grade A Certification (Mandatory)** * Minimum **8–12 years of relevant experience** (solar preferred) * Strong experience in **solar PV design and execution** * Proficiency in tools such as **AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP** * Solid knowledge of **power systems, protection, and grid connection** **Preferred Qualifications (Highly Advantageous)** * Previous experience in **solar or renewable energy projects** * Experience working on **island or remote projects** * Knowledge of **IEC / IEEE standards** * **Previous Kahramaa Certification / License is a plus** * Experience with **authority approvals and utility coordination** (e.g., grid connection processes) **Key Skills** * Project execution \& site management * Technical design \& analysis * Team leadership \& coordination * Problem\-solving and decision\-making Interested candidates meeting the above criteria, especially those with **UPDA Grade A certification**, are encouraged to apply via Indeed with an updated CV, or you can email your application to Info@solmacher.com with Subject: Solar Electrical Engineer UPDA Grade A Job Type: Full\-time Work Location: In person
