Foster exceptional customer experiences **Job Description: Store Manager** **Employment Type:** Full\-Time, Exempt/Salaried **Reports To:** District Manager / Regional Director of Operations **Position Summary** We are seeking a dynamic and results\-oriented **Store Manager** to lead our retail team. As the Store Manager, you are the driving force behind the store’s success—acting as the primary leader for team development, operational excellence, and customer experience. You will be responsible for maximizing profitability by managing sales performance, inventory, labor costs, and visual merchandising standards, while fostering a positive and productive work environment. **Key Responsibilities** **1\. Sales \& Performance Management** * Drive store sales to meet or exceed targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). * Analyze business reports (sales, traffic, conversion, and average transaction value) to identify opportunities and adjust strategies. * Develop and execute action plans to improve underperforming metrics. * Lead the team in executing promotional strategies and new product launches. **2\. Team Leadership \& Development** * Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high\-performing team of associates and department leads. * Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions as needed. * Foster a culture of open communication, accountability, and teamwork. * Create and manage staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage while controlling labor costs. * Mentor future leaders by identifying high\-potential employees and preparing them for advancement. **3\. Customer Experience** * Ensure the highest level of customer service is delivered by every team member. * Resolve customer complaints and escalations professionally and promptly. * Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor to engage with customers and support staff. **4\. Operational Excellence** * Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and security protocols. * Manage inventory levels to minimize shrink (loss) and ensure stock accuracy. * Coordinate with the buying/merchandising team to ensure effective visual standards and signage. * Ensure the store is clean, organized, and adheres to health and safety regulations. * Manage store\-level expenses (supplies, utilities, maintenance) to align with the budget. **5\. Financial Accountability** * Manage the store’s Profit \& Loss (P\&L) statement. * Control payroll budgets and overtime. * Protect company assets through strict adherence to operational controls and policies. **Qualifications \& Requirements** **Education \& Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience). * Minimum of **3–5 years** of retail management experience, preferably in \[Insert industry, e.g., Fashion, Grocery, Electronics]. * Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals. * Experience with point\-of\-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software (e.g., \[insert specific software if applicable]). **Skills \& Competencies:** * Strong leadership and people management skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and financial reports. * Superior problem\-solving and decision\-making abilities. * Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods. * Physical ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to \[X] lbs. **Core Competencies (Desired Traits)** * **Customer\-Centric:** You prioritize the customer experience above all else. * **Resilient:** You thrive in a fast\-paced, high\-pressure environment. * **Agile:** You can pivot quickly based on business needs and market changes. * **Integrity:** You handle confidential information and company assets with honesty.
