The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day\-to\-day operation of computer networks, including hardware, software, and connectivity. You will troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure high availability for all users. **Key Responsibilities** **Network Management \& Maintenance** * Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points, controllers). * Monitor network performance, availability, and security using management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios). * Perform regular firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration backups. * Manage IP address schemes, DHCP, DNS, and VLAN configurations. **Security \& Compliance** * Implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). * Ensure network security best practices (access control lists, port security, 802\.1X). * Assist with compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI\-DSS, SOX) as applicable. * Respond to security incidents and perform root cause analysis. **Troubleshooting \& Support** * Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, wireless). * Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for the IT help desk. * Work with ISPs and vendors to resolve circuit or hardware failures. **Documentation \& Planning** * Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration documentation, and change logs. * Forecast network growth and recommend hardware/bandwidth upgrades. * Participate in disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning. **Required Qualifications** **Education \& Experience** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). * 3–5\+ years of hands\-on experience in network administration. **Technical Skills** * **Routing \& Switching:** Cisco (IOS/NX\-OS), Juniper, Arista, or Aruba (OS\-CX). * **Protocols:** TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, 802\.1Q, LACP. * **Security:** Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA/FTD), VPNs (IPsec, SSL), RADIUS, TACACS\+. * **Wireless:** Experience with controllers (Cisco WLC, Aruba, Meraki). * **Monitoring \& Tools:** Wireshark, NetFlow/sFlow, SNMP, syslog. * **Scripting (bonus):** Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation. **Certifications (one or more preferred)** * Cisco CCNA (required minimum) or CCNP Enterprise * CompTIA Network\+ * Fortinet NSE 4/5 * Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE * Juniper JNCIA **Soft Skills** * Strong analytical and problem\-solving abilities. * Excellent verbal and written communication. * Ability to work independently and in a team environment. * Calm under pressure during outages. * Detail\-oriented with strong documentation habits. **Preferred (Nice\-to\-Have)** * Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNet, Google Cloud). * SD\-WAN experience (Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet). * Network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform). * Load balancers (F5, NGINX, HAProxy). * Voice over IP (VoIP) / QoS knowledge. **Working Conditions** * On\-call rotation for after\-hours emergencies. * Occasional lifting of equipment (up to 50 lbs).
