Description

Summary: Develop, monitor, and control project schedules as a \ Highlights: 1. Opportunity to be a key "foresight specialist" in project success. 2. Utilize advanced scheduling software like Primavera P6 and MS Project. 3. Engage in critical path, earned value management, and risk analysis. **Core Mission** To develop, monitor, and control project schedules to ensure that work is completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. They act as the "timekeeper" and "foresight specialist" of a project. **Key Responsibilities** **1\. Planning \& Scheduling** * Develop detailed project schedules using software like **Primavera P6**, **Microsoft Project**, or **Ast Powerproject**. * Break down large projects into manageable tasks (Work Breakdown Structure \- WBS). * Define logical sequences and dependencies between tasks (e.g., "You cannot pour concrete until the rebar is tied"). * Establish baseline schedules to measure future performance. **2\. Resource Management** * Forecast and allocate labor, equipment, and materials to specific tasks. * Coordinate with procurement to ensure materials arrive when needed (Just\-In\-Time delivery). * Identify resource overloads (e.g., one crane scheduled for two places at once) and level the load. **3\. Monitoring \& Control** * Track daily/weekly progress against the baseline schedule. * Calculate **Earned Value Management (EVM)** to measure schedule variance (SV) and cost variance (CV). * Identify critical path activities (the longest chain of dependent tasks that determines project duration). * Update "S\-Curves" and histograms to visualize progress. **4\. Risk Management \& What\-If Analysis** * Anticipate delays (weather, supplier issues, labor strikes) and build contingency plans. * Perform impact analysis: "If concrete delivery is delayed by 5 days, does the project finish 5 days late or can we recover?" * Simulate different execution scenarios to find the most efficient path. **5\. Reporting \& Communication** * Generate progress reports (weekly/monthly) for project managers and clients. * Produce look\-ahead schedules (e.g., "What needs to be ready in the next 4 weeks?"). * Lead planning meetings with site supervisors, subcontractors, and engineers. **6\. Claims \& Disruption Analysis** * In the event of delays, analyze the root cause (Owner delay vs. Contractor delay). * Prepare time extension claims or defend against penalty clauses using forensic schedule analysis. **Required Skills \& Tools** **Hard Skills:** * **Advanced Scheduling Software:** Primavera P6 is the gold standard; MS Project is common for smaller firms. * **Critical Path Method (CPM):** The mathematical algorithm for calculating project duration. * **Earned Value Management (EVM):** Formulas to objectively measure progress. * **Understanding of Construction Methods:** Knowing how a building goes up or how a pipeline is laid is essential. * **Excel/Power BI:** For custom dashboards and data analysis. **Soft Skills:** * **Foresight:** The ability to see future conflicts before they happen. * **Communication:** Translating complex Gantt charts into simple directives for field crews. * **Negotiation:** Convincing a foreman that the schedule is realistic. * **Detail\-orientation:** A single missing dependency can crash the entire plan. Pay: QAR120,000\.00 \- QAR165,000\.00 per year Work Location: In person
