Summary: Seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer – Road Works to supervise and manage road construction activities, ensuring execution aligns with approved designs, quality, safety, and schedules. Highlights: 1. Support Resident Engineer in supervising road and infrastructure construction. 2. Ensure implementation of QA/QC procedures and compliance with project HSE. 3. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders. We are seeking an experienced **Assistant Resident Engineer – Road Works** to support the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing road construction activities for the Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that road works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. **Duration: 3 Years (Extendable) \- Local Hire Only** **Key Responsibilities** * Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising road and infrastructure construction activities in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements. * Supervise earthworks, excavation, grading, subgrade, sub\-base, road base, asphalt, kerbs, drainage, and associated infrastructure works. * Review drawings, specifications, method statements, shop drawings, material submissions, inspection requests, and technical documents. * Monitor contractor performance, construction quality, workmanship, and progress against the approved schedule. * Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, survey teams, and other stakeholders. * Verify levels, alignments, coordinates, and setting\-out works and monitor material testing and inspections. * Identify and report construction issues, discrepancies, delays, and technical concerns to the Resident Engineer. * Ensure implementation of QA/QC procedures and compliance with project HSE requirements and applicable regulations. * Maintain site records, daily reports, inspection records, and project documentation. * Attend site meetings, provide technical/progress updates, and support the Resident Engineer in resolving construction issues. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; BSc/BEng/BA or equivalent preferred. * Minimum **10 years of total experience**, including **5\+ years of relevant experience in road construction and infrastructure projects**. * Experience supervising major road and infrastructure projects is preferred. * Strong knowledge of **road construction, pavement, road materials, drainage, earthworks, and asphalt works**. * Ability to interpret **engineering drawings and specifications**. * Strong **site supervision and contractor coordination** skills. * Good knowledge of **quality control and inspection procedures**. * Strong communication, reporting, and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple site activities and work effectively under project deadlines.
